About Midwife Lauretta
Hi, I’m Lauretta — Midwife, Birth educator, Acuneedling Midwife, Bodyworker and Mum, based in Ballarat and working online. I created this space because too many women walk into birth feeling unsure, unheard, or like they just have to “go with the flow.” You deserve clear information, practical tools, and genuine support — without judgement — so you can feel confident taking charge of your birth.
What I do:
I teach Your Birth Class — available in person or online — where you’ll learn birth skills (breathwork, movement, touch tools like massage, counter pressure and acupressure, optimal positioning, and advocacy) alongside the knowledge to understand what’s happening in your body. It’s more than just learning about the stages of labour — it’s about knowing how to work with it all, however your birth unfolds.
I also offer Acuneedling & Bodywork — gentle treatments that can support pregnancy symptoms and discomforts at any stage, as well as help with birth preparation, optimal positioning, and recovery postpartum. Internal Pelvic Release — a gentle, hands-on therapy that works with the soft tissues of the pelvis. This can help release stored tension, support birth preparation, ease pelvic pain, and provide connection to your pelvic space (+ a whole heap of education).
If you love real, evidence-based conversations, tune into my podcast The Midwife Memos — warm, honest chats and stories about pregnancy, birth and postpartum that help you feel informed (and less alone). Who I’m for: first-time mums who want to feel prepared and in charge, second-time mums ready for a different experience after a tough first birth, and partners who want to feel useful and confident — not helpless on the sidelines.
My approach is simple: practical skills + mindset support + informed choice. I’ll support you to feel clear and confident about your options, so you can birth in the way that feels right for you. You don’t need to “go with the flow” — you get to birth your way.
If that’s what you’re looking for, I’d love to help.
