About Mums Exercise Groups Australia (MEGA Mums)

MEGA Mums

Fun, Fitness & Friendship for mums at every stage of motherhood.

MEGA Mums (Mums Exercise Group Australia) is a volunteer-run community created by mums, for mums, and has been bringing mums together for 12 years.

We help mums get active, connect with other mums and feel less alone through welcoming, affordable and family-friendly exercise and social activities.

We know motherhood doesn’t always fit neatly around a gym timetable or childcare arrangements. That’s why mums can bring their babies and children along to most MEGA events. You don’t need to be fit, experienced or have it all together — just come as you are.

Our activities include Pilates, walking, fitness, dance, yoga, play-based activities and community events, with different options available across our local MEGA communities.

MEGA is for all mums and grandmothers — from pregnancy and the early days of motherhood through to mums with toddlers, school-aged children and beyond. Whether you’re looking to return to exercise after having a baby, meet other mums, get out of the house, or simply find your people, you’re welcome at MEGA.

For exercise activities, mums need to be cleared by their health professional to exercise during pregnancy or return to exercise after birth, with a minimum of 6 weeks postpartum. We encourage mums to choose activities that are appropriate for their individual stage of motherhood.

We understand that motherhood can be isolating. Our events are relaxed and inclusive, with space for the realities of family life — including babies needing feeds, toddlers running around and kids learning to share the space. There’s no expectation that your children sit quietly while you exercise!

MEGA is proudly 100% volunteer-run, with local mums giving their time to create welcoming opportunities for other mums in their community. Some activities are delivered in partnership with qualified local instructors and community organisations.

I’m Lyndal, the Director of MEGA Mums. I became involved as a mum and volunteer and have continued volunteering with MEGA for a decade. I run MEGA because I know how valuable it is to have somewhere you can show up exactly as you are — children in tow and without judgement.

Come for the movement, stay for the friendships. MEGA Mums is a place for mums to move, connect and feel part of a community.
