About Newbies & Bewbies
Newbies & Bewbies is a mobile, in-home lactation and postnatal support service which aims to guide and nurture women and their families to feel confident as they adjust to their new roles. The arrival of a baby can bring about a number of feelings and emotions and it is essential to recognise that everyone’s experience will be different.
With extensive experience working with families I understand the importance of the whole family unit and the pivotal role they play in supporting you through this time. I am committed to empowering you by promoting supportive decision making, providing up to date current information and assisting in fostering connections between you and your baby. My aim is to instil you with confidence, empower you with knowledge and support your decisions.
I am a Registered Nurse/Midwife and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I have had 17 years experience working as a Registered Nurse/Midwife in both the private and public hospital sectors. I am highly skilled in a variety of environments including birth suite, ante/postnatal wards, postnatal domiciliary/home visits and clinical education. I have been privileged to care for a variety of women and families and promote a holistic family-centred approach, which is focused on meeting your goals and needs. I am committed to providing the best care to all women and babies, with a special interest in supporting and working with women who have additional mental health needs, such as anxiety and depression. To compliment my special interest I have recently completed a Graduate Diploma of Health (Perinatal and Infant Mental Health) at Federation University.
In addition to my professional career, I am a wife and mother to 3 gorgeous children. My happy place is in the kitchen where I unleash my creativity by developing recipes and meals that help to restore and nourish you in your postpartum period; feed and nurture the soul; and my favourite – bring loved ones together.
