About OT in Motherhood
OT in Motherhood supports women through the practical realities of pregnancy, postpartum recovery and early motherhood — helping mums feel more prepared, confident and capable as they navigate this new stage of life.
Founded by Kristy, an Occupational Therapist, Babywearing Educator and mum of three, OT in Motherhood combines professional knowledge with real-life experience to help mothers adapt to the everyday demands of motherhood. C-section preparation and recovery is a particular area of interest.
Having experienced three C-section births herself, Kristy understands that recovery is about much more than healing an incision. New mothers are also navigating feeding, lifting and carrying their baby, getting in and out of bed, caring for older children, managing the home, returning to movement and figuring out how to look after themselves while caring for everyone else.
As an Occupational Therapist, Kristy looks at the bigger picture — helping mothers understand what to expect, prepare their environment, adapt everyday activities and find practical ways to keep doing the things that matter to them.
As a Babywearing Educator, she also helps mothers explore how babywearing can make everyday life easier, from safely and comfortably carrying their baby to having their hands free for older children, household tasks or simply getting through the day.
Support can include preparing for postpartum recovery, recovering from a C-section, learning to babywear, adapting to life with a new baby and managing the practical demands of motherhood.
Whether you’re preparing for a baby, recovering after birth or simply finding that motherhood looks different from what you imagined, OT in Motherhood provides practical, evidence-informed guidance to help you feel more confident in your body, your abilities and your role as a mum. Online support is available to mothers across Australia.
