About The Sleep Sanctuary
Hi, I’m Sarah – the heart behind The Sleep Sanctuary. I’m a Certified Baby & Toddler Sleep Consultant, Newborn Care Specialist, and experienced Night Nanny with over 20 years of hands-on experience supporting babies, young children, and their families.
I’m also a proud mum of three, and it was my own journey through motherhood that ignited my deep passion for supporting others through the wild, beautiful, and often overwhelming early years of parenting. My experiences have shaped the way I support families today — with empathy, practical guidance, and a strong commitment to nurturing both infant and maternal wellbeing.
At The Sleep Sanctuary, our primary services include:
– Sleep Consulting for newborns through to toddlers
– Night Nanny Support to give families hands-on rest and recovery
– Postpartum Support and Care to gently guide and support you through those early weeks and months
We also offer support with settling, routine development, early nutrition, breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and responsive care for unsettled or sensitive babies.
My approach is gentle, holistic, and tailored — always led by your parenting values and your baby’s unique temperament. Whether you’re navigating the newborn haze, toddler sleep regressions, or just craving a full night’s rest, you’re not alone. I’m here to walk alongside you with practical, nurturing support so you and your little one can get the rest you truly deserve.

Having served the Sydney community for more than 25 years as a General Practitioner, I am passionate about the health and well-being of women, children, parents, and families, and feel strongly a good GP relationship provides a foundation of support, information & education, communication between health practitioners, and care.
I believe it is not only physical and mental health that contributes to our state of wellness, but also the strength of relationships in our lives, and the families and communities to which we are connected.
As a sports woman who runs and swims regularly and a yoga instructor (Sydney Sports Stadium) I am an advocate of preventative and proactive lifestyle choices, and am comfortable combining evidence based medicine with holistic care.
In this regard, I work closely with allied health professionals involved in my clients care including Naturopaths, Chiropractors, Nutritionists etc… and welcome this important aspect of optimising health outcomes. This is particularly important in the areas of child health, fertility, pregnancy and postnatal care, maintaining a modern, fresh, comprehensive and relevant approach.

Why Hiring Postpartum In-Home Support Can Transform Your Recovery
If I had my way, support would be non-negotiable and, in an ideal world, would have government funding, so everyone can access the help we all deserve. We can shape our families' and therefore babies' complete outcomes (and lives!) by providing education, but above all, support in those early days. It is essential for a mother who has given birth to rest and recover.

How to Talk About Sharing the Mental Load with Your Partner: A Complete Guide
In many households, the mental and emotional work of managing a family, often called the invisible load, falls disproportionately on mothers. It's not just about doing tasks; it's about carrying the mental checklist: remembering appointments, organising activities, planning meals, and anticipating everyone's needs. Over time, this invisible mental load can lead to resentment, overwhelm, and burnout.
