Postpartum Recovery
Welcome
Postpartum is a unique period in a woman’s life. She experiences many changes, internally and externally – and they are profound. While navigating the depletion of pregnancy and birth we are still facing 24 hour days, hormonal swings, emotional shifts, changing identity, relationship challenges and days that are never the same. It’s easy (and common!) to feel overwhelmed and uncertain.
This resource is aimed at sharing some information and practical tips so that you can approach this time feeling empowered and prepared for what’s ahead. I want to reduce the overwhelm so that you can bond with your baby and step into motherhood with confidence.

Medi Ready Kids
When a child needs a medical procedure, parents aren’t given a roadmap. Instead, you may feel lost, unsure what to say, how to prepare your child, or how to help them cope.
You’re told where to go and what will happen, but not how to actually support your child through it. Meanwhile, kids are expected to handle blood tests, surgeries, and scans, just like adults, but without the tools or understanding.
At Medi Ready Kids, we change that. Our resources help you feel confident in what to say and do, so your child feels calm, supported, and safe. It’s not just about getting through an appointment- it’s about giving your child the building blocks for positive medical experiences, now and for the future.

Telebaby
Telebaby with Dr. Samuel Heitner – Paediatric Help is Just a Click Away! I’m Dr. Samuel Heitner, a paediatrician with over 15 years of experience and the founder of Telebaby. Being a parent is one of the most rewarding, yet challenging, journeys you’ll ever take, and I’m here to support you whenever you need it.
I offer Telehealth video consultations tailored specifically for babies, supporting parents and families Australia-wide, 7 days a week, all from the comfort and safety of your home.
If you’re worried about your baby’s reflux, colic, constipation, poor weight gain, unsettled behaviour, rashes, suspect a milk allergy, or have any other concern, Telebaby is here to provide guidance and peace of mind. My services include a video consultation, one week of email support following your consult, and a follow-up call to check in on your baby’s progress. If needed, I can also provide Escripts, including specialised infant formula for cow’s milk allergy, blood tests, imaging, medical certificates, and more.
In addition to Telebaby, I work as a paediatrician in the Emergency Department at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and care for babies in the Special Care Nursery and the post-natal ward at Sydney Southwest Private Hospital. I am also a Clinical Associate Lecturer with The University of Sydney and a Fellow of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) – Paediatrics & Child Health Division.

What is a Doula?
Today, a doula is typically someone who acts as a hub of support, referrals and resources for a person during a major life transition, usually related to birth. Doulas have a holistic approach that considers both mental and physical well-being. Services vary significantly but can include emotional reassurance, information based on scientific evidence, and comfort techniques like massage and nourishing food. The role is not medical, and doulas cannot treat, diagnose or cure any disease.
