About Cultivation Counselling – Me, We, Us
I’m Bree Baxter, a relationship counsellor, founder of Cultivation Counselling, and the creator of Me, We, Us.
For years, I’ve worked closely with individuals and couples as they navigate the messy, meaningful, and often overwhelming parts of life and relationships. Again and again, I began to notice a pattern. Many of the struggles couples were bringing into the counselling room didn’t begin years down the track. They began much earlier, during the transition into parenthood.
So much time, energy, and money go into preparing for the baby. We read the books, attend the appointments, buy the pram, organise the nursery, and try to get our heads around birth, feeding, sleep, and all the rest. But the part that is so often left unsupported is the relationship itself.
And yet, this season can place enormous pressure on even the strongest couples.
Becoming parents can reshape how we see ourselves, how we cope, how we communicate, and how we function together day to day. It can bring love and joy, but also stress, exhaustion, resentment, disconnection, and a quiet sense that somewhere along the way, the two of you have become more like co-managers than partners. That is why I created Me, We, Us.
Me, We, Us is a relationship support programme designed to help couples care for their relationship during the transition into parenthood. It offers a practical and thoughtful way of looking at this season through three important lenses: Me — the individual experience of becoming a parent, We — the couple relationship, and Us — the wider family system you are building together.
My hope is that this programme helps mothers, partners, and families feel more prepared for the emotional and relational changes that come with parenthood, not just the practical ones. It is there to support honest conversations, deeper understanding, and a stronger sense of being on the same team.
At its heart, Me, We, Us is about helping couples stay connected while everything else is changing around them. Because preparing for parenthood should not only be about getting ready for the baby. It should also be about protecting the relationship at the centre of the family.

Why Hiring Postpartum In-Home Support Can Transform Your Recovery
If I had my way, support would be non-negotiable and, in an ideal world, would have government funding, so everyone can access the help we all deserve. We can shape our families' and therefore babies' complete outcomes (and lives!) by providing education, but above all, support in those early days. It is essential for a mother who has given birth to rest and recover.
