About Radiant Birth
Radiant Birth is a Melbourne-based doula collective and community offering personalised support through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond. Led by Josie Hipwell, Radiant Birth brings together compassionate, values-aligned doulas who support families with warmth, depth, and practical care that honours both evidence-based knowledge and the lived experience of becoming a mother and parent; and expanding your family.
We believe people deserve more than information alone. They deserve preparation, presence, and support that helps them feel prepared, steady, and deeply held. Through doula support, birth and postpartum preparation, planning and reflection sessions, workshops, events, and community resources, we help families feel more connected to themselves, their experiences, and the support around them.
Because birth and parenting are never one-size-fits-all, neither is our care. Whether someone is planning a hospital birth, homebirth, VBAC, caesarean, or moving through a more complex season, we meet them where they are with respectful, trauma-aware, personalised support.
Areas of expertise
Radiant Birth brings together a broad range of knowledge and skills across pregnancy, birth, postpartum support, preparation, practical and emotional care. As a collective and as individual doulas, we offer personalised support that may include birth and postpartum preparation, trauma-informed and neurodivergent-affirming care, birth debriefing and reflection, hands-on postpartum support, bodywork, mindfulness, nervous system awareness, and practical care for across the spectrum of mother and parent hood.
Our work blends emotional, physical, informational, and practical support in a way that responds to each individual and family. Across all of our offerings, we aim to create spaces where people feel respected, prepared, and supported, while building confidence, connection, and a stronger sense of their own inner
capacity to tackle whatever this season throws your way.
